September: Have You Filled A Bucket Today, by Carol McCloud. Theme--Kindness

October/November: Ben Franklin: His Wit and Wisdom, by Alan Schroeder. Informational Text

November/December: The Bat Boy and His Violin, by Gavin Curtis. Theme--Acceptance, diversity

January/February: Sit-In: How Four Friends Stood Up by Sitting Down, by Angela Davis Pinkney. Theme--Courage

March/April: Boy, Were You Wrong About Dinosaurs, by Kathleen Kudlinksi. Informational Text

May/June: Imaginative Inventions, by Charise Mericle. Informational Text

As you are well aware the Common Core Standards will be asking students to be able to read more informational text, make comparisons and contrasting views while providing evidence to do so either verbally or orally. Hence, the number of texts that are informational.
